Refrigerated vs frozen transport

Two temperature bands — mixing them on one trip is not recommended.

Editorial review: September 2026

The most common answer-engine question: is refrigerated the same as frozen? No. The band and the mixing risk differ.

Chilled

Products that must not freeze and must not warm: dairy, fresh foods, some medicines. The vehicle is set to an agreed above-zero band.

Frozen

Frozen meats, frozen foods, ice cream. A sustained warm spike damages quality. Ops target sub-zero continuously.

Mix them?

Not recommended. One compartment cannot serve two bands safely. Split trips or use the required band only.
